    • 7.00 pm: Doctor Who: Doomsday (S02/E 13/13). As an unstoppable terror emerges from beneath Torchwood, the Doctor faces an even greater dilemma - does saving the world mean the death of Rose Tyler?

      • The episode is noted as it marks the final appearance of the Doctor's companion Rose Tyler character, played by Billie Piper, in a tearful forced separation of the pair. It also ends the season with a cliffhanger, the unexpected introduction of Catherine Tate as Donna Noble.
    • 7.45 pm Match of the Day Live. The curtain is set to fall this weekend on what has been a month of top-drawer footballing drama, with a cast of incredible characters performing on a world stage. Tonight, Stuttgart is the venue for the play-off for third and fourth places (kick-off 8.00). Introduced by Gary Lineker, with commentary from Jonathan Pearce and Mark Bright.
      • Hosts Germany beat Portugal 3-1.
