Brexit- UK and EU agree delay to 31 October - BBC News
- After long talks in Brussels late into the night, the EU grants a "flextension" (flexible extension) for Brexit until 31 October 2019. The new deadline means the UK is likely to have to hold European Parliament elections in May. The new 31 October deadline however, averts the prospect of the UK having to leave the EU without a deal this Friday. PM Theresa May said the UK would still aim to leave the EU as soon as possible.[1]
