- The Beatles' manager Brian Epstein dies at his home in London, aged 32. The Beatles themselves were in Bangor, Wales with Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. Plans were immediately made for a return to London. An inquest found the cause of Epstein's death to be accidental, resulting from 'incautious self-overdoses' of Carbrital, a drug taken to assist sleep.
