- TV: BBC Two, 0.45 Glastonbury 97
For the first time BBC television cameras join forces with Radio 1 to bring exclusive coverage throughout the weekend of this year's Glastonbury Festival from Pilton in Somerset. Radio 1 DJs John Peel and Jo Whiley introduce highlights from the opening day of the world's leading contemporary music festival. Coverage includes brief encounters with the farmer and philanthropist behind the festival, Michael Eavis, plus a host of celebrity interviews.
The cameras also follow a few of the characters that make Glastonbury Britain's most extraordinary festival.
Television coverage continues on Saturday and Sunday and Radio 1 will be broadcasting live throughout the weekend.
