130th final of the FA Cup between Manchester City and Stoke City takes place at Wembley, and is shown live on ITV1[1]
- Man City won the match with a single goal scored by Yaya Touré at 74'. Mario Balotelli was voted Man of the Match.
- Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini said he was happy to give the club's fans a trophy to celebrate after waiting for so long.[2]
56th edition of the annual Eurovision Song Contest takes place in Düsseldorf, Germany. The contest consisted of two semi-finals on 10 and 12 May, and the final tonight.
- the final was won by Azerbaijan with the song Running Scared performed by Ell & Nikki. Italy came second and Sweden third out of a totla of 25 finalists. The UK came in at 11th place with the song I Cam performed by the reformed boyband Blue.
