Nightlife is the title of the seventh studio album by pop duo Pet Shop Boys, originally released on 08 October 1999.
The album had been preceded by two new tracks released as singles, I Don't Know What You Want But I Can't Give It Anymore and New York City Boy. The album also spawned a third single You Only Tell Me You Love Me When You're Drunk. For the album cover and videos the duo adopted a striking new visual image featuring thick black eyebrows and usually orange or yellow wigs.
Nightlife is notable as it was the first Pet Shop Boys album not to reach the top five in the UK. It reached no.7 on its release although stayed in the Top 40 for just two weeks.
On 28 July 2017 the album was re-released remastered as part of the 'Catalogue: 1985-2012' series, with two bonus discs of related material Further Listening 1996-2000. [1]
