Hit the 1,400 page mark today, almost with realising. Here it is -  a rather unassuming date and feature this time, rather than being dedicated to anything/anyone in particular.

When posting up this No.1 magazine section however, I was struck by how similar it was to the same Smash Hits , published a few days earlier: same features, same singles, same lyrics etc., although No.1 was a far inferior publication, and SH was definitely at its peak at this time. (That said No.1 did carry a rather interesting 'interim' ABC feature. I didn't know David Palmer joined Fry/White again after their 'cartoon' period when the dwarf and the blonde had evidently departed. ocean Blue had just been released as a single. I don't think the re-formed trio came to much though as their next album was Alphabet City in 1987 when they were back to just Fry/White and Plamer is not credited as drummer anywhere).

The last 100 were  done in record time (10 calendar days, 8 working days) although partly due to the fact that I published a number of templates for OTD January 8copy, paste, replce, copy, paste...), using the system whereby all years are listed for a particular date from 1964 to 2018 on the template page, even though the majority of the links will be dead. I thought this would sae time on creating templates/links for each day although perhaps not such a good idea as a) there are now a huge number of wanted links and b) the 'On This Day' column on the cover page is super-long! Consequently I've had to painstakingly re-arrange the cover page (not without problems) in order to accomodate it. Perhaps I'll go back to the day by day system for templates from February.

I've counted approx. 250 existing date templates as of today, a lot more than I thought and only 117 or so (just over a third, ie four months) off the full year target! Note to self: check when the 1st anniversary falls!

I've aso introduced a 'featured photos' section whcih will need updating occasionally although much like the featured videos probably won't be.

Friday afternoon, signing off.
